Why PDR, Part I

Keep Your Orange Peel:

Take a very close look at your factory paint job. If you look very closely, you'll see the surface is bumpy like an orange peel. If you get your body panel repainted, that orange peel would be gone. Why is it bad? That means the newly finished body panel will not match the rest of the car.

PDR does not repaint, so you keep your original paint surface.

Keep Your Factory Paint:

When your car was first painted from the factory, it was baked to ensure it's long life and durability. If you get your body panel repainted, that particular body panel would not be baked, and the paint life and durability would not be up to par with your factory paint. Cars with factory paint usually have higher resell value than those with aftermarket paint job.

PDR does not repaint, so you keep your factory paint quality and value.

Keep Your Factory Parts:

Often time the body shop would have to replace the damaged body panel with a new one. But depending of the make, year, and model of the car and your insurance policy, you may or may not get a factory replacement part. With a none factory part, you would have to deal with fitment issue and of course the paint issue.

PDR does not replace body panels, so you have the same alignment and fitment as before.
